Raytheon Aircraft Company Donates $50,000 to Corporate Angel Network

White Plains NY — (Immediate)—Raytheon Aircraft Company’s Charitable Foundation donated $50,000 to Corporate Angel Network (CAN), the non-profit that coordinates free flights for cancer patients in the empty seats of corporate jets. This brings Raytheon Aircraft Company’s total CAN donations to more than $100,000.
“Raytheon has flown nearly 80 flights with cancer patients’ aboard.” said CAN Chairman Randall Greene. “Their involvement is so important to our mission. In addition to lift and financial support, Raytheon Aircraft Company’s Chairman and CEO, Jim Schuster, is a member of our board of directors and lends his interest, time, and considerable talent towards putting the resource of corporate aviation's unparalleled lift to the service of cancer patients.”
“It’s difficult to find a family that hasn’t been touched by cancer, including the Raytheon Aircraft Company family. We are proud to be associated with such a remarkable and deserving organization, and I am personally honored to have the opportunity to work with so many great individuals who freely give their time to help cancer patients across the U.S.,” said Jim Schuster, Chairman and CEO, Raytheon Aircraft Company.
Corporate Angel Network arranges free flights for cancer patients using the empty seats on corporate aircraft. Since its founding nearly 25 years ago, CAN has grown to include 530 participating corporations, five paid staff, and a team of 50 part-time volunteers who work with patients, physicians, corporate flight departments, and leading treatment centers to coordinate medical travel needs of cancer patients with the scheduled flight activity of participating corporations. To date, CAN has arranged nearly 25,000 flights and currently provides about 200 patient flights a month. CAN has received numerous awards in recognition of its service to cancer patients, including The Volunteer Action Award, the highest volunteer award from the President of the United States.
