NBAA Joins ChevronTexaco Global Aviation and B/CA as "Corporate
Angel Award" Co-Sponsors
White Plains, NY (October 7, 2003)-Corporate Angel Network (CAN),
a national public charity that serves cancer patients by arranging
free transportation to treatment using empty seats on routine
corporate flights, announced today that NBAA will join ChevronTexaco
Global Aviation and Business & Commercial Aviation (B/CA)
magazine in sponsoring the Corporate Angel Award.
ChevronTexaco Global Aviation, BC/A, and now NBAA co-sponsor
the Corporate Angel Award, a quarterly tribute to corporations
and their flight departments that have demonstrated outstanding
dedication as participants in Corporate Angel Network. The award
recipient is recognized with a plaque, a full-page ad in Business
& Commercial Aviation magazine and $2,500 worth of ChevronTexaco
aviation fuel. The net proceeds from the ads are generously donated
the to Corporate Angel Network.
"NBAA has been a strong supporter of Corporate Angel Network
for many years" said Peter Fleiss of Corporate Angel Network.
"We are extremely pleased that Shelley Longmuir has chosen
to extend that support in a manner that brings awareness to our
mission and rewards participating corporations and their flight
departments who generously offer their empty seats to our cancer
patients."
The most recent Corporate Angel Award was presented to ConocoPhillips
this month. Previous recipients include Limited Brands, Corning,
Ford, The 401K Company, Verizon, Wyeth, International Paper, Schering-Plough,
and Dow Chemical.
Founded in 1981, Corporate Angel Network (www.CorpAngelNetwork.org)
now includes 500 participating corporations, along with a team
of 60 part-time volunteers and six paid staff who work with patients,
physicians, corporate flight departments and leading treatment
centers to coordinate medical travel needs of cancer patients.
To date, Corporate Angel Network has arranged more than 17,000
flights, and currently provides about 160 patient flights per
month.
Part of the Aviation Week Group, a division of The McGraw-Hill
Companies, Business & Commercial Aviation is the best read,

in their business. Since 1958, B/CA has been the world's premier
source of business aviation operational information and "how-to"
features -- emphasizing safety, efficiency and the effective use
