Flight Options Flies
Corporate Angel Network's 15,000th Flight
FRACTIONAL OWNER PARTICIPATION IN
CORPORATE ANGEL NETWORK ON THE RISE
White Plains, NY - For its milestone 15,000th flight on July 26,
2002, Corporate Angel Network helped an eight-year-old brain cancer
patient by arranging for Flight Options, LLC, a leading provider
of fractional shares in jet aircraft, to fly the young boy from
Tampa, FL to Memorial Sloan-Kettering in New York City, where
he will receive potentially life saving treatment. A Flight Options
Hawker 800 arrived at Westchester County Airport in White Plains,
NY (Avitat-Westchester) at 12:30 PM carrying young Christopher
Becker, who was accompanied by his father, Patrick Becker.
"It's especially appropriate," remarked Bonnie LeVar,
Corporate Angel Network's new Executive Director, "that our
landmark 15,000th flight be made by Flight Options, the first
fractional jet ownership provider to join the Corporate Angel
Network. Many fractional owners are starting to realize the great
service they can offer cancer patients by providing an empty seat
or donating flight hours."
"Flight Options is delighted to donate flight time to such
a worthy cause," said Kenn Ricci, Chairman & CEO of Flight
Options. "The work Corporate Angel Network does is truly
a special gift, and we are happy to participate."
On the field to greet the arrival of the 15,000th flight was
Leonard M. Greene, a co-founder of the Network, who personally
flew Corporate Angel Network's first flight as well as its 1,000th,
5,000th, and 10,000th. A longtime supporter of the Network, Greene
was previously Chairman and presently serves on its Board of Directors.
Holder of over 100 patents and a National Inventors Hall of Fame
inductee, Greene is credited with saving thousands of lives through
his invention of stall warning and wind shear warning, both of
which are FAA-mandated for installation on U.S. aircraft. James
E. Rogan, Under Secretary of Commerce and Director of the United
States Patent and Trademark Office, has called Greene "one
of this country's greatest living inventors."
Corporate Angel Network (www.corpangelnetwork.org) is a public
charity that arranges free air transportation aboard corporate
and fractionally owned aircraft for cancer patients traveling
to treatment. Since it was founded in 1981, the organization has
coordinated 15,000 flights and attracted 500 of America's best
corporations into its network, including 56 of the top 100 in
the Fortune 500. These companies recognize that offering a vacant
seat is a tremendous opportunity to help cancer patients win their
battle. The organization may be contacted at (914) 328-1313 or
at info@corpangelnetwork.org.
Founded in 1998, Flight Options pioneered the concept of offering
shares in previously owned jets, thus reducing the cost and opening
private jet travel to a broader audience. After merging with Raytheon
Travel Air in March, 2002, the company now offers new and pre-owned
fractional shares in its fleet of over 200 aircraft, including
the King Air B200, CitationJet, Beechjet 400A, Citation V, Citation
650, Hawker 800XP, Falcon 50, Challenger 601, and Gulfstream IV.
Flight Options recently received the ChevronTexaco Corporate Angel
Award for its ongoing support of Corporate Angel Network.
