Logs Record-Breaking Month
180 Flights Arranged for Cancer Patients
White Plains, NY April 3, 2003-March was the best month ever
for Corporate Angel Network, the national public charity that
provides free air transportation for cancer patients traveling
to treatment by using the empty seats on corporate jets. Cooperating
with its 500 corporate partners, the volunteer organization was
able to arrange 180 patient flights during the month of March,
up almost 12% from the previous record high of 159, set last year.
"We were able to help more patients in March than ever before"
said Bonnie LeVar, Corporate Angel Network's Executive Director,
"thanks to the fortitude and generosity of our participating
corporations. This is especially notable when taken in the context
of our country's newly declared war in Iraq, and it's related
home front security and flight operation challenges. We salute
our corporate partners and thank them for their outstanding support."
An important element in this record breaking month is the increased
participation in Corporate Angel Network by fractional owners
and fractional operators. Fractional owners are starting to realize
what a wonderful service they can provide to cancer patients by
providing an empty seat on one of their flights or by donating
flight hours.
Corporate Angel Network's dedicated volunteers also deserve much
credit for this milestone month. Sixty devoted men and women of
all ages and backgrounds work together every week to make Corporate
Angel Network a reality.
