FLYING MAGAZINE'S JAGUAR RAFFLE RAISES NEARLY $38,000 FOR
CORPORATE ANGEL NETWORK
Bob Scott, President of Aviation Industry
Ad Agency, French/Blitzer/Scott, LLC., Wins Jaguar
White Plains, NY-A major highlight of the National Business Aviation
Association (NBAA) Meeting and Convention each year is FLYING
Magazine's Jaguar Raffle, which once again, and for the eighth
time, benefited Corporate Angel Network (CAN), the national public
charity that partners with corporations and fractional owners
to transport cancer patients to treatment centers using the empty
seats on routine corporate flights.
NBAA's new president, Shelley Longmuir, drew the winning ticket
before a crowd of onlookers as the convention drew to a close.
The winner was Bob Scott, President of New York City based aviation
advertising agency, French/Blitzer/Scott, LLC. Scott purchased
$100 worth of tickets.
In cooperation with Jaguar Cars of North America, FLYING raffled
off a two-year lease on a brand new X-type Jaguar. Three Jaguar
models were displayed at the show: two at FLYING's exhibit and
one in the main lobby. The Jaguar's were a strong draw and admirers
purchased nearly $38,000 in tickets to benefit Corporate Angel
Network. "This represents a meaningful portion of our annual
budget", said Peter Fleiss of Corporate Angel Network. "The
contribution that FLYING Magazine makes each year by organizing
and managing the Jaguar Raffle is instrumental in our ability
to continue to help cancer patients. We are extremely grateful
to FLYING and Jaguar for their support."
"Our CAN/Jaguar/NBAA annual raffle has raised close to $450,000
for the Corporate Angel Network over the last eight NBAA shows"
Said Dick Keonig, Vice President and Publisher of Flying Magazine.
"That couldn't happen without the generous support of not
only Jaguar and NBAA, but the unselfish offerings of aviation
photographer Paul Bowen, aerobatic champion Patty Wagstaff, Aviation
International News and Business & Commercial Aviation show
dailies, and of course, all those in the aviation industry who
generously purchased tickets. It is a team effort in support of
CAN."
Founded in 1981 and based in White Plains New York, Corporate
Angel Network (www.CorpAngelNetwork.org) now includes 500 participating
corporations, along with a team of 60 part-time volunteers and
six paid staff who work with patients, physicians, corporate flight
departments and leading treatment centers to coordinate medical
travel needs of cancer patients. Corporate Angel Network transports
about 160 cancer patients a month and recently flew it's 17,000th
patient.
FLYING Magazine, has been a partner and loyal supporter of Corporate
Angel Network since the early 90s when FLYING's best read editor,
Gordon Baxter, spread the Corporate Angel Network story to his
millions of readers in its July issue.
